

Meet Renee
Renee Walker has been writing since childhood, crafting her first short story at seven and producing her first play at nine. For two decades, she devoted herself exclusively to poetry before expanding into short stories, screenplays, essays, and novels. A cum laude graduate of Sonoma State University with a B.A. in English and a minor in Art History, she has lived and written across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Mexico.
Her work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Denver Post, and various literary journals. Her play The Hope Chest won first place in the Sonoma County Playwrights Festival, and her novel Philemon Steed: The Sound of Blood was recognized by PEN Texas. She was a featured author at the Texas Book Festival for Texas Rangeland. Her poetry collection Hill Country & Other Poems was a finalist for the WILLA Literary Award. She currently resides in the Sonoran Desert, working on her memoir, The Dogs of My Days.
